This textile print for Vallila Interior was inspired by my childhood friend Sophia who loves modern vintage home décor with bird motifs. Peonies, birds, lace doilies and hand-painted watercolour are my response to the design brief “romance.” The lace is from my mother’s collection of vintage doilies that she up-cycles into placemats for an eclectic table setting. Patterns from the doilies are re-crafted to illustrate the delicate birds.
