Shadow Puppet Mirror frames are inspired by shadow puppetry, a playful and primitive form of storytelling. We used this ancient mode of expression to develop the graphic shapes for the frames. By casting shadows with our hands, we created creatures from our natural northern habitat.

Shadow Puppet Vintage Mirrors are designed using repurposed materials. The design consists of two upcycled components: aluminum composite and vintage etched mirrors. The frames are made from re-purposed material that is typically used for architectural exteriors.
Shadow Puppet Vintage Mirrors merge two histories and two narratives, mixing old with new. Traces of tarnish in the mirror show signs of a previous life, while the shadow puppet tells a story through hands and shadows. Etchings in the glass speak of tradition, yet the aluminum composite is modern.
